There are plenty of places to eat and drink. The
Great North Road highway has many restaurants and hotels
that sell quick snacks, take away dishes to full course
meals. Major towns like Nakuru and Eldoret have hotels
that provide meals to travellers.
Dishes you will not miss on the menu include meat and
ugali (maize meal). you will also have an opportunity
to drink mursik – a traditional Kalenjin
drink of fermented milk mixed with charcoal (from the
wattle tree). Nyama choma joints are also common
and travellers can stop and enjoy roasted beef, mutton
or chicken. |

The annual East Africa safari Rally is a favourite
of many who desire to mix some sport with holiday. The
great wildebeest migration at the Maasai Mara is a spectacle
to behold. It takes place annually between June and
september. Be sure to catch millions of wildebeests
migrating
from the serengeti in Tanzania to the Mara.
Sport fishing is common in some of the Rift Valley
lakes. you will get a chance to enjoy a good boat ride
and practice your fishing skills.
Market days are a common event in most major towns
and shopping centres in the Rift.
