  What to visit
The Rift Valley has very many attractions that offer a wide variety of activities to suit every need.

The Sibiloi National Park is East Africa’s best kept secret. located in the north east of Kenya it is unique in that it combines wildlife and pre-history. It contains some of the most important paleontological and archaeological sites in the world, as well as stunningly beautiful and interesting wildlife areas found here.

Hells Gate National Park is located on the Nairobi-Nakuru highway. It is an ideal place to relax and unwind from town life because of its close proximity to Nairobi. At the national park, you will have an opportunity to see geysers, gorges, wildlife and birdlife. The place also has three towers that visitors can use to get a good view of the Rift Valley. At Hells Gate, you can also view buffaloes, elands, lions, maasai giraffes, coke hartebeests, cheetahs and leopards. It is also a breeding ground for vultures and eagles and other bird species. Within Mount Longonot National Park lies the young dormant Mt. longonot volcano rising 2,776 above sea level. The park is 90 km from Nairobi and offers visitors the opportunity to view the longonot volcano and crater, the Naivasha basin and a splendid view of the Rift Valley.

Olorgesailie prehistoric site is 60 km from Nairobi, past Ngong Hills. About half a million years ago, olorgesailie – located on the edge of a vanished lake was once a hunter’s camp. The site has been excavated by archaeologists and a tour of the site will bring you closer to the roots of mankind. you will have the opportunity to see fossils of prehistoric creatures, their tools and hunting weapons in their undisturbed state just as they were found by archaeologists. The place also has a small museum where visitors can find out more historical information and view bones and items found on the site.
