Mombasa is the oldest and second biggest
city in Kenya. It is also the centre of the Kenyan coast
offering beautiful beaches and world class resorts that
offer nothing but the best to the discerning traveller.
Situated on the south-Eastern part of Kenya you can
visit the North coast and South
Coast beaches, Malindi and
Watamu, lamu, Tana River Delta,
or even Taveta.
Originally called Manbasa by Arab traders of the 11th
century, the island was a centre of trade primarily
exporting ivory and slaves. Mombasa is strongly influenced
by Arabic culture and this is quite evident in the food,
the dress and the architecture. Today this coastal island
is a melting pot of different cultures, races and religions.

North Coast and South Coast
The North and south Coast are both linked to the Mombasa
Island through the Nyali Bridge and the likoni Ferry
respectively. At the North Coast you will find the lively
Giriama people of the Mijikenda
tribe while at the south Coast you will enjoy the cleanest
white beaches where you can sunbathe and swim at peace
under the clear African sky.
Malindi is thought to have been founded
in the 10th century by Arab traders, evolving into an
important city-state and a major port. The Portuguese
navigator Vasco da Gama landed there
in 1498 and erected a monument; the Vasco da
Gama Pillar that still stands. Malindi is a
small town still possessing some of its original architecture.
Despite the swahili culture, Malindi is largely influenced
by the Italian community who have settled there.
Its beaches are clean and sparsely populated, a perfect
getaway for those who yearn for a romantic hide away.
you may even come across some international celebrities
during your stay there.
